Curricular / Extra-Curricular / Co-Curricular Activites :
A systematic schedule of co-curricular and extra - curricular activities provides a rich and exciting experience for the children and makes the task of learning lively, progressive, creative and meaningful.

We encourage students in a wide range of creative and cultural activities. The students are regularly taught drawing, painting, tailoring, handicrafts, dance and music. Students with significant aptitude in elocution, essay writing, debating, quiz, role play ,project works as well as fine arts are recognized and are sent for various competitions conducted by private companies, educational institutions, charitable trusts and various clubs in and around Coimbatore.They return winning prizes in abundance. Our school student's projects are regularly selected for the district level / state level science exhibitions. A project on Save Our Earth was selected for the State level exhibition. A project work on “Automatic Traffic Signal” prepared by our students won several prizes at the District and State - Level Science Exhibitions. It also found a place at the South India Science Exhibition held at Secunderabad. Another feather in our cap is that we have continously received the All Round shield for Best Performance Among Aided Schools in the District Level Kalai Ilakkiya Vizha since its inception.

The students of Stds VIII & XI regulate the traffic to our school under the auspices of Road Safety Patrol Programme of Traffic Police Department, Coimbatore.

We are very much aware of the importance of communication skills of our students. Hence we have a tie-up with the Institute of Language Management, Bangalore. They send their faculty to our school as resident teachers to teach English grammar, communicative English, Etiquettes and Manners. These classes are part of the regular curriculum for all classes.

We believe that maintaining the Physical and mental health of our students is as important as imparting education to them. With this view, all our students upto Std IX have regular yoga classes.

We also have a partner in The Hindu which under its Newspaper in Education programme sends its faculty to our school for weekly interactions with our students.

Summer coaching camp will be conducted for sports students to give rigorous training for a period of three weeks. Spoken English classes for students and personality development classes for staff will be conducted during May 2006.

Red Cross
'Junior Red Cross' was started in 2001 with 30 students and three councellor. The various activities of the Junior Wing of the Red Cross aim at raising the students to the level of good human beings, social workers and to add to the nation's growth. Under the auspices of JRC, our students visit old age homes and participate in rallies conducted on social awareness themes.

It  is  an  additional   honour   to   our   school   that   our   secretary,  Mrs. Nandini Rangasamy is the honorary secretary of the Indian Red Cross, Coimbatore, contributing her commendable service to the cause of the poor.

National Cadet Corps
Our School boasts of 100 cadets belonging to Troop No.23 – TN Girl’s Battalion. Our cadets have attended the Thal Sainik Camp at New Delhi in the year 2002. Moreover, they have been representing Tamilnadu at the Republic Day Camp and Parade, New Delhi, for several years. Our students receive the ‘Outstanding NCC Cadet Award’ and Scholarships from the State Government every year. Last year’s recipients were S.Kadambari, V. Sheeba Gladis and S. Sapna Mable.

Girl Guide
Another hallmark of Our Institution is the Girl Guide Movement with 120 guides in four troops ably guided by five fully qualified Guide Captains. The Guide Movement was started in our School in 1960. It is registered as the Peelamedu Guide Company in the District Association of Bharat Scouts and Guides. Our guides are led through the various stages such as Pravesh, Pratham Sophan, Dwitiya Sophan, Tritiya Sophan and finally to the Rashtrapathi Award. So far 300 students have been awarded the President Award.

Club Activities
Various Clubs functioning in the High School inspire and encourage young minds to explore, learn and discover new things. Mathematics, Science, Language, Music, Fine Arts, Crafts and Games are a few of the clubs working to expand the capabilities of our students.

At the Higher Secondary level, various associations function efficiently, organising programmes like guest lectures, oratorical and essay competitions, quiz, field trips, play acting, debate, paper presentation and music competitions.

Eco - Watch Club
Eco - Watch Club was started in our school this year in order to create an awareness among the public about clean environment and the health hazards caused by pollution. Student members of this club collect news on environment and bio-diversity from the dailies and magazines. They read this news in the morning assembly. They also undertake field trips and such educative activities and advocate the importance of clean environment among the public in their area.

"Indian Centre for Wild Life and Environmental Studies in South Asian Region" conducted an essay competition in which S.P. Karthika of IX won 'Paryavaran Ratna' award and ours is the only school selected from Tamil Nadu. Our Headmistress and the co-ordinator of the Eco-Watch Club were also given 'Paryavaran Dronacharya' awards.



 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Sports and Games
Under the rigorous training of our experienced coaches, our athletes and players excel in Sports and Games setting new records. Apart from sports activities under the curriculum like Ball-Badminton, Table Tennis, Kho-Kho, Shuttle-Cock and Tennikoit our players participate in the open matches, State - level Amateur Athletic meets and Rural Development meets as well. Our sports stars represent the State at the National - level and bring laurels aplenty.

Some of our sports stalwarts are Sheeba Newman, Daphne P, Kamali H, Maria John, Savitha S, Renuka Devi P, Usha N, Suganthini Nanda P, Durga G, Kousalya R, Nageswari N, Deepti M, Sindu J, Mahalakshmi G, Lakshimi M, and Gayathri Devi P.

The School has grown from strength to strength due to the able guidance and support of the munificent management and the dedication of the staff members. It looks forward to scale greater heights of glory in the future.
